Hi pards . . . . . . . . Hello from "Desperate Hot Springs" an infamous town just a bit north of the famous town of Palm Springs California. I'm actually located in a desert area in between the two and just far enough out of town to keep from being hit with a wild shot. During the winters I'm here and am a volunteer at an animal sanctuary. I have a home on the family property in Ohio that I built in the early '70. Retired a few years ago when I realized that working too hard and too much wasn't really getting me what I wanted in life. And now concentrate on having fun. I learned to shoot when I was very young, got a Ithaca "Saddle Gun" for my 16th birthday and proceeded to spend all my allowance on .22s ! In the early '70s I started shooting big bore, reloading my own, and generally being a "gunaholic". Then got involved in career, working for a living, etc. . . . Didn't shoot for years. I had always loved old Webleys and bought myself a couple when I was located in San Diego. Didn't even shoot one of them for 10 years ! That is a sacrilege for sure. A few years back I picked up a gun magazine in a super market and there was an insert in it about "Cowboy Action Shooting". I found out that the wonderful western era guns that I'd loved years ago but couldn't afford to have were being replicated and were affordable. WoW. I started reading "Guns of the Old West". Soon joined SASS. I looked around for a inexpensive way to try single action and black powder shooting. Saw a Pietta '58 Remington on GunBroker. Bought it and was HOOKED with the first shot. I having been having a lot of FUN. Here are a few pages about my guns and other fun stuff.
